Global Pulse Day

1 March For Patients

GLOBAL ARRHYTHMIA AWARENESS DAY

Together with its sister societies (HRS, EHRA and LAHRS), APHRS is launching Pulse Day, the Global Arrhythmia Awareness Day.

A Global Initiative

What?

Pulse Day is an annual global awareness initiative dedicated to raising awareness about cardiac arrhythmias. The day aims to inspire people everywhere to take simple yet impactful steps towards protecting their heart health, such as becoming more informed about their heart's rhythm, checking their pulse regularly and seeking medical advice whenever an irregularity is detected.

Who?

This year's Pulse Day is led by the European Heart Rhythm Association (EHRA) in partnership with its sister societies:

           - Asia Pacific Heart Rhythm Society (APHRS)

           - Heart Rhythm Society (HRS)

           - Latin American Heart Rhythm Society (LAHRS)

With the support of Arrhythmia Alliance (UK) and the World Heart Federation.

When?

Held annually on 1 March (1/3), Pulse Day serves a a reminder that 1 in 3 people worldwide is at risk of developing a serious cardiac arrhythmia during their lifetime.

Why?

Cardiac arrhythmias are a growing public health concern worldwide. The prevalence of atrial fibrillation (AF) alone has increased significantly, rising from 33.5 million cases in 2010 to 59 million in 2019.

With early detection being key to preventing complications from cardiac arrhythmias, increasing public knowledge of these conditions is essential to empower individuals to understand, detect and address them effectively.
